Interview with Adam Lippin of Cuddlist.com – how he got TENS OF MILLIONS of views from publicity for FREE
by Adam Lippin
When I read marketing/PR advice my eyes glaze over because it is the same old template advice told over and over again –but it says NOTHING of what you really need to do.
Body Local is great because it provides us with a sense of community/support and networking/referrals’/crowdsourcing best practices etc. Julian and Ben have done a phenomenal job bringing us all together so we can support one another and validate our work. This is great and I have met brilliant fascinating people....
Lets take it as a given we all know the basics of SEO/PR/Social Media/Branding etc.” and I would argue that you ALL know this information but it is easier to say “I don’t know how to do this” –“ I am too old for this technology” etc.
What you really are saying is that I am to lazy/scared to figure it out and it is easier to make excuses. We can all go to www.fivver.com and get any basics help we need for virtually nothing. We need to be brave/fearless and ask for exactly what we want from the people we want it from and not give up. If you are not willing to do this – then please don’t complain that it is “hard”
I know what is like to be scared and face rejection - I have a professional cuddling business and my mission is to make this into a healing modality covered by insurance so I have my skeptics too say the least and you know what; I use that to my advantage!!!
So first and most important piece of advice is to find a way to be controversial and I know this sounds harsh but be willing to offend someone and stand by your work.
You need to stand out and let people know why what you do is BETTER then the competition and exactly why -what is your core strengths that only YOU can do. Comparisons are great and work – it puts teeth into what you are saying. What is your particular skill that no one else can do?
For my business, we are creating an industry and have re-named the Industry to “Cuddlist.” To have any credibility in the fields now – you must be “Cuddlist” – not just a professional cuddler. That is our mantra and it is working. By stating just this, we are implying that no one else has done this and we care the most and have the skill set/talent and resources to do this. It is also a fact.
