BEN FLEISHER, LAc, CZB
I first became fascinated with the mind-body connection as a teenager. I stumbled upon a Buddhist text on my parent's bookshelf and soon enough, it was a full immersion. I traveled the country and the globe, seeking (and finding) living masters of many traditions, all pointing me back to myself.
I finished undergrad school with a specialized degree in the Psychology of Buddhism, but at 21 years of age, I felt in no way ready to council anyone. I felt unprepared, naive, and under-qualified. I started with massage school, thinking that if nothing else, massages feel good for everyone.
Then, out of the blue, my brother died. He was successful and happy and listening to his doctor's orders, and yet, his time had come.
Shocked, furious, and grief-stricken, I slowly returned to the world of the living. My determination was clear:
Though I will never be able to bring my brother back, I can serve his memory by bringing all of myself to being an informed, trained, and compassionate advocate for everyone who is battling health issues, no matter their scale.
I realized that after experiencing loss on this level, I can be with anyone through their suffering.
I realized that health advocates that can view symptoms through both western and eastern lenses are rare and that I have the training to help a lot of people from all walks of life.
I dedicated myself to deepening my knowledge, skills, and compassion so that I can truly be of service.
